Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) is a free, open source program to stream or record directly from your screen. OBS is an excellent tool to record and save online lectures, show and comment on videos, movies, or video games, or make corrections or go over common problems on assignments. Recorded mini-lectures, inserted into syllabi as required viewing, could prepare students for in-class discussions or as the basis for quizzes. This session will go over ways to use OBS and how I will be using it for an online summer course to bring a bit more “presence” to the online-only format.
