Description:

What is the 1948 United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights? This session will examine the Declaration with an eye to language. We will evaluate who’s included, who wasn’t, and speculate about why. Through writing and artmaking prompts, participants will reflect across and within social identity boundaries as to which of the Rights are most important to them and their community. Then, through group discussion and dialogue, we will select 2-3 of the Rights that are most essential to this year's Day of Dialogue theme, rewrite them, and create our own version of those Rights using art-making techniques.

Please have whatever art materials you can, colored paper, scissors, colored pencils, markers, collage papers, whatever! We will talk about possible ways to use whatever you might have.
